The 2009 E-Class is a 4-door, up to 7-passenger luxury sedan, luxury sports sedan, or luxury wagon, available in 7 trims, ranging from the E350 Luxury Sedan to the E63 AMG Sedan.

Upon introduction, the E350 Luxury Sedan is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 24-mpg on the highway. The E63 AMG Sedan is equipped with a standard 6.2-liter, V8, 507-horsepower engine that achieves 12-mpg in the city and 19-mpg on the highway. A 7-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
